San Francisco World Spirits Competition

Hosted by The Tasting Alliance, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) is widely regarded as the most prestigious spirits competition in the world. For more than two decades, SFWSC has served as the industry’s benchmark for excellence, evaluating thousands of entries through a rigorous blind-tasting process conducted by some of the most respected palates in the spirits industry.

Receiving a Double Gold distinction is one of the highest honors awarded at the competition, signifying unanimous agreement among judges that the spirit is truly exceptional. Combined with an outstanding 96-point rating, this recognition places Borracho Blanco among the most highly regarded tequilas evaluated that year.

Latin American World Spirits Competition

Also presented by The Tasting Alliance, the Latin American World Spirits Competition (LAWSC) was created to celebrate the rich heritage, artistry, and innovation of Latin America’s most iconic spirits. Through a blind judging process led by industry experts and cultural voices from across Latin America and the United States, LAWSC provides a dedicated platform for producers to showcase their craft on an international stage.

For tequila producers, recognition at LAWSC carries special significance, as entries are evaluated alongside some of the finest agave spirits being produced today.

2026 Agavos Awards

The Agavos Awards were created with a singular focus: honoring excellence in agave spirits through fairness, transparency, and integrity.

Unlike many competitions where packaging and branding can influence perception, every spirit entered into the Agavos Awards is evaluated completely blind. Judges evaluate only what matters most: aroma, flavor, craftsmanship, balance, and finish.

Built upon the same principles that have made Agave Matchmaker one of the most trusted resources in the tequila community, the competition is designed to celebrate quality and authenticity rather than marketing or presentation. Winning products also receive special recognition within the Agave Matchmaker platform, providing consumers and enthusiasts with a trusted signal of excellence when selecting agave spirits.

These recognitions are especially meaningful because they are earned solely on the quality of the liquid itself, reinforcing our belief that exceptional tequila should always speak for itself.
